Kati Patang

Madhavi (Asha Parekh) is an orphan living with her uncle. When her marriage is arranged with someone she does not know, she runs away to her lover, Kailash (Prem Chopra), only to discover that she has been relying upon a wrong person. When she comes back home, she finds that her uncle is dead. With no family left, she leaves home. At the railway station Madhavi meets her childhood friend Poonam. Poonam is a widow and, along with her little son, is going to her in-laws who have never seen her. Madhavi accompanies them, and when Poonam is fatally wounded in an accident, Madhavi is forced to take up Poonams identity and go to her in-laws. Life goes smooth for Madhavi till she meets same person (Rajesh Khanna), who had come to marry her. Madhavi finds him likeable, but cant marry him now as she is living the life of Poonam a widow!
